Episode 62 Show Notes – Tom’s Tokyo Disney Resort Shooting Tips; Critique; Randomness

Posted by on Aug 8, 2013

On this episode, Tom talks about his recent trip to Tokyo Disney Resort, and some of the ways this resort offers challenges for Disney photographers (such as not allowing tripods).

This episode was sponsored by the How to Photograph Fireworks eBook by Cory and Tom. Since they wrote the book and they’re also hosts, it’s not a real sponsorship, but whatever. It’s a good book for improving your fireworks photography.

Also, this is our first episode in the TouringPlans Podcast Network. Check it out!

Here are the critiques:

Tom – Too much dead space, other sunset photo in the stream is much better.

Cory – Consider vertical crop; blue sky is beautiful.

Ryan – Captured beautiful sunset; loves blue colors and the reds. Ryan likes more distinct foreground.

Epcot - Test Track 2.0

Tom – Human element works well; very solid “double” shot.

Cory – Great work with the color balance, great dynamic range.

Ryan – Looks like a stock photo.

Spaceship Earth Blue Hour

All – very good color, composition, and clarity. Might use a little more contrast.

Swing, Swing, Swing...

Tom – A little soft, but probably a result of the slower shutter speed. Nice work, overall.

Cory – Likes the variation of the dancers; tough lighting.

Ryan – Agrees with everything.

Monstrous Sunset Over the Longhouse

Cory – Pretty sky, great color.

Ryan – Open darks; top of building very close to top of photo. Dust spots.

Tom – Beautiful scene; might try different composition.
